THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Youth congress state chief Rahul Mamkootathil replies to Padmaja Venugopal’s remark that he is a leader who became famous through TV. He said that he is proud to opine the stand of his party in TV. Whenever I opine in my life, I will write the name of Congress with the opinion till death. Rahul added that he is not going to change party for a Rajya Sabha seat and fear of ED case. He said this while talking to the media in Thiruvananthapuram.

'When Padmaja Venugopal said that she has seen me only on TV. The press conference that led to it was held in the hunger pandal. If Padmaja Venugopal had ever skipped food, then it was to reduce her bodily fat. I have never heard of Padmaja fasting or skipping food for someone else.'

‘Me and my colleagues have been lathicharged many times. We have never heard the leader who raised his daughter Padmaja affectionately beating her even with a broom stick. There are about eight to nine cases against me after coming to Thiruvananthapuram. More than 100 cases have been registered for striking. Is there any case against her other than the case for over speeding, I don't know,’ he said.

Meantime, Padmaja’s remarks against Rahul was soon after she joined the BJP. Padmaja said Rahul became a leader through TV. Padmaja's comment was in response to Rahul's statement that if she claims the tradition of Karunakaran, she will have to face still resistance.
