THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala government has increased the dearness allowance of employees and teachers. An order increasing the dearness allowance from seven to nine percent has been issued. The dearness relief for service pensioners will also increase at the same rate, while the dearness allowance for college teachers, engineering college and medical college teachers has been increased from 17 percent to 31 percent. Retired teachers will also get dearness relief at the same rate, while judicial officers' dearness allowance will go up from 30 per cent to 46 per cent. The dearness relief rate for retired officers has also been increased to 46 percent. The dearness allowance will be 46 percent for All India Service officers including IAS, IPS and IFS.
Last day, DA of central government employees was increased by four percent. The increase in DA will come into effect from January 1, 2024 with a retrospective effect. The gratuity limit for residents has also been increased from Rs 20 lakhs to 25 lakhs.
