2000 kg of banned tobacco products seized from lorry in Kochi; father-son duo arrested

KOCHI: About 2,000 kilos of banned tobacco products were seized from a lorry parked near the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi. The lorry and tobacco products were seized by Palarivattom sub-inspector Sunny, and CPOs Vijesh and Deepesh, who were patrolling yesterday morning under the supervision of ACP P Rajkumar.

Two people were arrested. The arrested people have been identified as Kasargod Shiribagilu natives AM Yusuf (68) and his son AY Haneefa (36). The accused who tried to run away from the police were chased and caught. The police said that the accused used to bring large quantities of banned tobacco products from other states and distribute them to various people.
