One month's welfare pension will be disbursed soon; Finance Department issues order sanctioning amount

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Social welfare pension for one month will be distributed in the state from March 15. The Finance Department has issued an order sanctioning one month's instalment of welfare pension arrears. With this, pension arrears for six months are left to be paid.

The pension distribution will be handled correctly starting in April, according to the Finance Department. Minister KN Balagopal said that the pension amount will be paid to all those who completed mustering.

Those who provided bank account numbers will receive pensions through bank accounts. Others will receive the pension directly at home through cooperative societies for others. The Finance Department has also informed in a press release that the measures for the distribution of pensions in the respective months from April are being ensured.

The Finance Minister accused the central government of continuing to financially choke Kerala. The state is going ahead with the relief activities for the people, including welfare pensions. The minister stated in the press release that the government is committed to finding solutions to the problems of the common people on an urgent basis and to implementing their relief schemes properly.
