THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP state president K Surendran on Wednesday gave a sly hint about few prominent figures of the congress party joining BJP in the upcoming days. Surendran also raised hope about famous personalities of CPM joining the BJP in the coming future. This revelation comes amidst the BJP Kollam district president’s disclosure about some prominent congress leaders from Kollam contacting him.
Some days before, there were reports that S. Rajendran, a prominent leader of the CPM in Idukki and former Devikulam MLA pondering over a switch to BJP. Rajendran later appeared in the media and denied the rumors but ambiguity continued after Rajendran failed to renew his membership with CPM. Connecting the dots came K Surendran’s revelation.
It was only last week that former Chief Minister K Karunakaran's daughter Padmaja Venugopal joined the BJP, creating a political maelstrom in Kerala. According to K Surendran, there will be more influx of congress workers to BJP before PM Modi’s scheduled arrival in the state for election campaigning.
