Central govt bans 18 OTT platforms including 'Yessma' for promoting explicit 'incestuous' content

NEW DELHI: The central government has stopped the broadcast of 18 OTT platforms including Malayalam adult OTT platform Yessma. The decision comes as part of the government initiative to block explicit content from cyberspace. 19 websites, 10 apps and 57 social media handles have been blocked as part of the new decision.

Platforms such as Dreams Films, Voovi, Yessma, Uncut Adda, Tri Flicks, X Prime, Neon X VIP, Besharams, Hunters, Rabbit, Xtramood, Newflix, MoodX, Mojflix, Hotshots, IP, Fugi, Chikooflix and Primeplay have stopped broadcasting content as part of the decision.

According to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, these websites were having a free run even after repeated warnings from officials. The decision comes minding the egregious plots of sexual relationships between teachers and students and incestuous family relationships, that have now gone rampant in OTT platforms.
