Minister announces 'golden offer': K-rice available across all outlets by Friday noon

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister GR Anil has announced that Sabari K-Rice will be available at all Supplyco outlets today afternoon. 195 tonnes have been distributed so far. As of yesterday, 39,053 ration card holders have purchased. K-Rice is distributed through more than 1600 outlets of SupplyCo. It has reached more than 1150 stores. In the first phase, two thousand metric tons of rice was purchased. Of this, 1100 metric tons were delivered to 56 depots of Supplyco.

Steps have been taken to bring the subsidized goods to the shops. To attract customers, an offer scheme called 'Supplyco Golden Offer' has been introduced for non-subsidised items. 15 items of non-subsidized items such as chickpea, fenugreek, green peas, mustard etc. will be given 15 to 30 percent less than the general market.

The amount has been sanctioned for disbursement of January commission of ration traders. Payments to transportation contractors for the months of December, January and February have also been sanctioned.
