Petrol, diesel prices slashed after two years; revised prices come into effect

KOCHI: The revised prices of petrol and diesel have come into effect. The new prices came into effect by 6 am today. In Kochi, one litre of petrol costs Rs 105.50, while one litre of diesel costs Rs 94.50. The prices of petrol and diesel were slashed after two years.

The central government made the announcement slashing fuel prices yesterday night. The prices have been slashed by Rs 2 per litre. Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that the reduction in petrol and diesel prices will reduce the operating cost of 58 lakh goods vehicles, 6 crore cars and 27 crore two-wheelers.
