Stray dog seen walking with a severed hand in its mouth; shocking sight from hospital premises

LUCKNOW: In a shocking incident, a stray dog was seen walking through the premises of a hospital with the severed hand of a human in its mouth. The shocking incident took place at the King George Hospital in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. People on the hospital premises were shocked to see the stray dog roaming around carrying the severed hand of a human. Following this, the people present there tried to chase away the dog. With this, the dog ran away after dropping the hand near the garden of the hospital.

The hospital staff soon removed the severed hand from the spot. They later handed it over to the investigating officers. It is not known where the dog got the hand from or who the severed hand belongs to. The hospital authorities are investigating whether a hand had gone missing from any of the bodies in the mortuary.

It is believed that the dog may have obtained the severed hand from the body remains cremated at the hospital or from outside. Usually, body parts that get severed in an accident or as part of treatment are either cremated in the hospital or handed over to family members. It is indicated that this severed hand may be a body part handed over to some families for cremation.
