RIYAD: Saudi Arabia's new airline, Riyadh Air, is offering lakhs of job opportunities. However, even before the launch of this new airline in the Gulf region, the number of applications received has quadrupled.
Within a year of the announcement, online applications have been received from more than 100 countries. Officials also stated that Riyadh Air will operate flights to around 100 important cities in the world by 2030.
Riyadh Air was announced by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in March last year. In just one year, 10 lakh people applied for jobs at Riyadh Air. These are the figures from the recruitment shows conducted by the company in London, Paris, Dubai and Riyadh, in addition to the applications received online.
The company aims to create 200,000 new jobs and generate an additional revenue of Rs 20 billion in the non-oil sector. The company officials had stated the other day that the aircraft will start service at the beginning of next year. Currently, the company has placed orders for 72 aircraft.
