'It is against the law to use my photo or a photo including me for any kind of election campaigning', clarifies Tovino

THRISSUR: V S Sunilkumar, the LDF candidate from Thrissur, clarified that the photo featuring him with actor Tovino Thomas was taken during a visit to a shooting location in Poonkunnam. Sunilkumar explained that he was unaware of Tovino's role as the Election Commission's brand ambassador at the time and promptly removed the photo from circulation upon learning of this.

Moreover, Sunilkumar mentioned that Tovino personally requested him not to utilize their photo together for political campaign purposes. Initially, Sunilkumar had shared the image on his Facebook page, accompanied by a message from the actor wishing him success.

Subsequently, Tovino took to social media platforms to emphasize that his likeness should not be exploited for election campaigning, citing his position as the Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation Ambassador appointed by the Kerala Election Commission. He asserted that employing his image for such purposes would be in violation of electoral regulations.
