CHENNAI: After school students participated in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's road show in Coimbatore, the education department has initiated action against the teachers and headmaster who accompanied the children.
The DEO directed that a report be submitted within twenty-four hours on the incident. During Modi's road show, children were seen dressed as Hanuman and in school uniform at the Saibaba Colony junction.
About fifty students participated in the program. When asked why they participated in the program, the students responded that it was because the school authorities told them.
CPI state secretary R Mutharasan responded that he would file a complaint with the Election Commission. The Election Commission had earlier instructed not to use children for election campaign.
