Death of student: Vizhinjam international port gate blockaded

VIZHINJAM: Vizhinjam international port gate was blockaded by various parties to protest the death of the scooter passenger student who died from a rock falling on him.

Councilor C Omana, NV Anilkumar, Kidarakkuzhi Sujesh, Mullur Lalan, VS Anilkumar, Mujeeb Rahman, Vivekanandan, Prahladan, Thankappan Nadar, Shamir, Regi, Aji and Lenin participated in the protest led by Congress Mukkola constituency committee president Mukkola Biju.

Kovalam area secretary PS Harikumar, U Sudheer, Venugopalan Nair, Pradeep, Mohanan and Nellikunnu Suresh led the CPM-led blockade.

District General Secretary Venganoor Satish, Mukkola Prabhakaran, Panavilakkodu Sreekumar, Ajay Mullur and Manali Vishnu led the BJP-led blockade.

A high-level discussion will be held today in Vizhinjam following protests by various parties. The discussion will be held at Vizhinjam IB at 10 am under the leadership of the collector with the participation of Adani port company officials besides representatives of various political parties.
DCC Treasurer Adv KV Abhilash demanded that the company supplying rocks to Adani Port should also be made a defendant and a case should be filed under the sections of murder.
