BENGALURU: Former Union Minister and BJP leader Shobha Karandlaje has apologised to Tamilians for the controversial remark she made against Tamil Nadu. Taking to her social media page, Shobha said that she was apologising as her remarks brought pain to some people. However, the BJP leader did not withdraw the controversial remark she made against Kerala.
The BJP leader had earlier sparked a controversy by saying that people in Kerala were throwing acid on the faces of girls in Karnataka, while people of Tamil Nadu undergo training in making bombs and come to Bengaluru to detonate them. She also alleged that Congress MLAs in Karnataka were raising slogans of 'Pakistan Zindabad' in the assembly.
Shobha Karandalaje made the hateful remarks in connection with the conflict over playing songs during the prayer in front of the Alsuri Mosque in Bengaluru. A controversy soon erupted over Shobha's remark and she drew criticism from various corners. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin too came up seeking action against Shobha over her remark.
Stalin said that the BJP leader's move to divide the people was reprehensible. He also said urged the Election Commission of India to take action against Shobha Karandalaje. Following this, the BJP leader came up apologising for her remarks.

I wish to clarify that my words were meant to shine light, not cast shadows. Yet I see that my remarks brought pain to some - and for that, I apologize. My remarks were solely directed towards those trained in the Krishnagiri forest,
