Delhi liquor case; Arvind Kejriwal arrested as 32nd accused

NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is the 32nd accused to be arrested in the liquor case. ED is of the position that Kejriwal has a role in the transaction of 100 crores. Aam Aadmi Party leader was taken into custody by the ED yesterday on charges of money laundering. Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao's daughter and Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi leader K. Kavita are the other political leaders who were arrested. Six charge sheets were filed against 31 people including liquor businessmen and middlemen. Agencies believe that the exchequer has incurred a loss of Rs 2,873 crore due to irregularities in the liquor policy.

245 locations raided

ED raids were conducted at 245 places in the country

Properties worth 128.79 crores have been attached

ED said that Sisodia personally received 2.2 crores

It is also alleged that Sanjay Singh received 2 crores

ED said that the Aam Aadmi Party received 45 crores for the campaign in Goa

ED issued nine summonses to Kejriwal

ED has asked Kejriwal to appear in the following days. However, the summons were dismissed as illegal.
