Election campaigns to get musical with special songs for candidates

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The fronts are ready to make the election campaign musical. Songs composed for the candidates are being prepared in the backstage. All major songwriters are busy writing election songs.

The CD of songs prepared for the campaign of Thiruvananthapuram constituency LDF candidate Panniyan Ravindran will be released today. Five songs have been prepared. The songs were penned by writers Ezhacherry Ramachandran, Pirappancode Murali, CPI State Secretary Binoy Viswam and Radhakrishnan Kunnumpuram. Udayakumar Anchal and Keralapuram Sreekumar composed the music. Songs are also being prepared for UDF candidate Shashi Tharoor.

The songs for V Joy, the Left Front candidate from Attingal are written and sung by poet Murugan Kattakkada. Three songs were written and composed by poet Rajeev Alunkal. Rajeev Alunkal has also composed three songs for LDF candidate AM Ariff.

Film lyricist Vayalar Sarath Chandra Varma is also in the field of election songwriting. He composed two songs for AM Ariff and one song for Mavelikkara Lok Sabha constituency Left candidate Arun Kumar.
