216 people from tribal communities in Sathyamangalam to Attappadi to get married tomorrow

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chavadinada Venganoor Pournamikavu Temple is all set to witness an extraordinary and unforgettable historical moment. 216 people from various tribal villages inside and outside Kerala will enter a new life tomorrow. 108 young tribal women will be married by grooms from their own tribal villages. Organizers say this is the first such marriage in the country. This great social work is being done by Pournamikavu Temple and Dhanalakshmi Group of Companies.

84 people from Sathyamangalam forest region of Karnataka, 34 from Maharashtra, 72 from Sholayur, Attappadi and Anaikatti region and 26 from Idukki, Kattappana and Kovilmala region will get married tomorrow. The Mangalya Mahotsav of 216 people and the Maha Maha Tripura Sundari Homam associated with it will begin today. The Chief Acharya of Homam 1008 Mahamandaleshwar Sri Sri Kailasapuri Swami reached Pournamikavu yesterday. The brides and grooms and their family members will start arriving in the capital from today afternoon. Their journey is entirely at Pournamikavu's expense. 450 rooms have been prepared in the capital for them to stay.

Parameshwara Brahmananda Theertha, Achyuta Bharati Swamiyar and Sri Harihara Desika Swamikar will also participate in the function. Samooha Devimahatmya Parayana Yajna will be held today from 10 am in which 1008 people will participate. The wedding is between 11:45 and 12:45 tomorrow morning. Goa Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai and Makam Tirunal Keralavarma Raja of Pandalam Palace will be the special guests.

The bride and groom will be given wedding clothes, thali chain, other essential ornaments and household items for one month. MS Bhuvanachandran, the chief organizer of community marriage, said that it will also be ensured that they get jobs.
