61-year-old man beaten up for ruining marriage proposal; father, son and relative arrested

KOTTAKKAL: Father, son and relative have been arrested in the incident of attacking a 61-year-old man with heart disease and spreading the footage. Kodalikadan Kutyali, a resident of Othukkungal Cherukunnu, was beaten up. His neighbour Tayyil Abdu (60), his son Nafi (28) and their relative Jafar (37) were arrested. Abdu and his son came to the house and beat up Kutyali on the third at 8 pm.

Kutyali was beaten alleging that the family of the girl who proposed marriage to Nafi asked Kutyali about Nafi and he ruined the marriage proposal. They recorded the footage of the beating and circulated it. Those arrested were later released on bail. The police also filed a case against Kutyali's family on the complaint filed by the accused alleging that they were beaten up on the public road.
