BJP candidates in remaining four constituencies in Kerala

KOCHI: The BJP on Sunday announced its candidates for the remaining four seats in Kerala. K Surendran, the BJP state chief, will contest in Wayanad against Congress' Rahul Gandhi and CPI's Annie Raja. The other three candidates are KS Radhakrishnan in Ernakulam, G Krishnakumar in Kollam and TN Sarasu in Alathur.

KS Radhakrishnan
South Chittoor native Dr KS Radhakrishnan (70) is a famous academician, writer and orator. He is the state vice president of the BJP. He was an NDA candidate in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. A former professor of philosophy at Maharaja's College, Ernakulam, he served as Vice Chancellor of Kalady Sri Shankaracharya Sanskrit University from 2004-2008 and PSC Chairman from 2010-16. He served for 24 years in various government colleges of the state. Authored many books. He was a teacher in various Christian seminaries, madrasas, ashrams and markas. He was born in 1954 to a fisherfolk family in Mulavukad in Ernakulam. Father: K.A. Sukumaran. Mother: Lakshmikutty. Wife: Srikumari. Children: Aswathi. Revathi.

K Surendran
K Surendran has been the state president of the BJP since February 2020. He was born on 10 March 1970 as the son of Kozhikode Ulliyeri native Kunjiraman and Kalyani. He entered the political arena through ABVP during his school days. Surendran, who has a degree in Chemistry, has served as Yuva Morcha Wayanad district president, state secretary, general secretary and president. He had contested Lok Sabha elections twice from Kasargod constituency and once from Pathanamthitta. Wife: Sheeba, Children: Harikrishnan and Gayathri.

Dr TN Sarasu
Kodungallur Santhipuram native Dr TN Sarasu (65) is a retired principal of the Palakkad Gov Victoria College. Husband Ajayakumar. V. In 2016, a controversy had erupted when SFI activists and pro-Left teachers' unions prepared a grave for her on the day she was retiring from Gov Victoria College. Following this, she joined the BJP. She had also worked in Kodungallur and Thrithala Gov Colleges. She was an NCC officer at Victoria College for 23 years. She was very active in activities such as blood donation, forest and water conservation. She has also acted in short films. Currently, a member of Seva Bharati.

G Krishnakumar

Krishnakumar (55), an actor, is a member of the BJP national executive committee. He is the son of Thiruvananthapuram Maruthumkuzhi native Gopalakrishnan and Rathnamma. He was the NDA candidate for the Thiruvananthapuram constituency in the 2021 assembly elections. He has acted in more than 100 films. He has worked as a news anchor on All India Radio and Doordarshan. He graduated in BA Economics from MG College, Thiruvananthapuram under Kerala University in 1986-89. Wife: Sindhu, children: Ahana Krishna, Ishani Krishna, Diya Krishna and Hansika Krishna.
