16 soap boxes concealing heroin worth crores seized at Palakkad Junction railway station

PALAKKAD: Massive drug bust at Palakkad Junction railway station. Heroin worth Rs 1.20 crore was seized from a train. Palakkad RPF Crime Intelligence Section and Excise Enforcement and Anti-Narcotics Special Squad jointly seized 164 grams of heroin.

When the black bag found abandoned in the front general coach of the Patna-Eranakulam Express was checked, 16 soapboxes were found wrapped in a cloth. Upon opening, they were found to contain heroin. Excise also registered a case and initiated an investigation.

Officials stated that strict inspections will continue in the upcoming days, particularly in light of the election and festival season. Palakkad RPF Crime Intelligence Section Inspector N Keshavadas and Excise Enforcement and Anti-Narcotics Special Squad Circle Inspector AGG Paul led the inspection.

RPF Crime Intelligence Wing Sub-Inspectors A P Deepak, A P Ajith Ashok, P T Balasubramanian, ASI K M Shiju, Head Constables N Ashok and O K Ajeesh, Constable P P Abdul Sathar, Excise Preventive Officers P P Gokulakumaran, Shaibu, K K Gopinathan, M M Yasser Arafat and Excise Driver M Vineesh also participated in the inspection.
