Man brutally beats elderly father to death in Kasaragod

BEKAL: In a frightful incident, a man beat up his father to death in Kasargod’s Bekal on Monday. Appukunji (67), a native of Pallikara is the deceased. His son Pramod (37) was taken into police custody. The incident took place on Monday at 6 a.m. As per the report, there existed some feud within the family for the past two days and this is thought to be the mainspring that led to the death.

On Sunday, Pramod smashed Appukunji’s head with an iron rod leaving the old man seriously injured with 15 stitches on his head. Police registered a case and even came to the home to arrest Pramod. However, the culprit was at large. On Monday evening, Pramod returned home and brutally harmed an already injured Appukunji, resulting in the death.

The dead body is now kept at Kanhangad District General Hospital.
