THRISSUR: In a grisly incident, a TTE (Traveling Ticket Examiner) was killed after being pushed from a moving train by a migrant labourer. TTE K Vinod is the deceased. The incident took place at 7 pm in train number 22643 servicing between Ernakulam to Patna. K Vinod, a native of Manjummel in Ernakulam, while on duty in the S11 coach, saw a migrant labourer standing near the door area. When asked for the ticket, the man relented, which led to a small altercation. In a shocking end, the TTE was pushed out of the moving train by the migrant man. It is reported that another train ran over the TTE after he fell on the tracks.

Odisha native Rajnikanth was arrested by Palakkad railway police after other passengers reported the incident.

Vinod who was initially a technician with the diesel loco shed, was shifted to TTE cadre just two years back after citing health reasons.
