TOKYO: Japan is one of the main foreign countries chosen by Indians for studies and work. Many including from Kerala, go to Japan every year to study medicine. Japan has now officially launched the e-visa system for countries including India.
This scheme allows one time entry and has a validity of up to 90 days. The e-Visa is mainly designed for people with regular passports who are trying to arrive in Japan by air. Those coming to Japan for short-term tourism can expedite the process through the Japan e-Visa system.
Who is eligible?
India, Australia, Brazil, Cambodia, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Taiwan, UAE, UK and USA can use the 'Japan e-Visa' system. Foreigners residing in India can also avail this system.
How to apply?
First, enter Japan e-Visa website. After that select the type of visa required and submit the documents. Enter all information correctly. Visa application information will be available in your email. The email will specify how much the application fee is. Pay this amount. E-Visa will be available after payment.
Applicants for an e-visa will be directed to appear in person at the Japanese overseas institution under the jurisdiction of the applicant's residence for an interview. This will complete the visa process.
