Rameswaram Cafe Blast; BJP worker Sai Prasad in NIA custody

BENGALURU: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has reportedly taken a BJP worker into custody in the Rameswaram cafe blast case. Sai Prasad was taken into custody by the NIA for questioning from Thirthahalli in Shimoga district.

Sai Prasad is being interrogated on suspicion of being related to the two accused in the Rameswaram cafe blast case. Last week, NIA had raided various houses and shops in Shivamogga as part of the case.

The blast took place at Rameswaram cafe in Bengaluru's Whitefield area on March 1. The case was handed over to the NIA on March 3. The blast took place at the cafe during a busy afternoon, injuring ten people. On March 28, the NIA had arrested Muzammil Shareef, a native of Karnataka, in connection with the blast.

Also, the NIA had stated that Mussavir Shasiq Hussain had been identified as the person who planted the bomb. He is in hiding. Abdul Mateen Taha is another mastermind behind the blast. NIA is searching for them. A reward of Rs 10 lakh was also announced for those who provide information about the accused. The NIA has also assured that the identity of the informers will not be disclosed. Officials have also released the picture of the suspect obtained from the CCTV footage of the cafe.
