THRISSUR: The police have arrested a Yuva Morcha former district secretary, who had been on the run in the case of attempting to sexually assault a girl during a temple festival. The arrested person has been identified as Vadanappally Beach native KS Subin (40). The police team led by Vadanappally SI Muhammad Rafeeq arrested the accused from Bengaluru three months after the incident.
The incident took place in January. As per the complaint, Subin had attempted to sexually assault an 18-year-old girl who came to witness the Desavilakku ceremony in Vyasanagar. The police registered the case on January 10. Following this, the accused went into hiding. The police went to Bengaluru and nabbed Subin after they received confidential information that he was staying in Bengaluru.
Subin is an accused in several criminal cases. His name is included in the goonda list of the Vadanappally police station. Apart from the SI, the police team comprised CPOs Ali, Arun and Pradeep. The accused was presented in the court and remanded.
