THRISSUR: Businessman and social activist Bobby Chemmannur is on the scene to collect the ransom of 34 crores to be paid to cancel the death sentence of Abdul Rahim, a native of Kozhikode Farook, who was sentenced to death in Saudi Arabia. It has been decided to carry out the execution on the 16th. Union Minister V. Muralidharan has announced that he will pressure to postpone it for at least three months. Bobby said that the problem should be resolved through diplomatic intervention. Efforts have been made to approach the Prime Minister as well. Bobby's supporters trust transferred Rs. 1.5 crores to the trust.
It was also informed that Bobby's Yachanayatra to collect the ransom will start from Thiruvananthapuram at 9 am. It will have direct access to various railway stations, bus stands, colleges, and public places up to Kasaragod. Bobby also pointed out that the death penalty was awarded for a minor offense. The aim is to collect the amount through the QR code provided on social media accounts and vehicles. Bobby Chemmannur informed that the amount will be transferred directly to the trust account.
