It is most likely that Eid Ul Fitr will be celebrated in India on April 11th of this year. The crescent moon is expected to be sighted in India on April 10th, so Eid will be celebrated the next day. However, unlike in other Indian states, both Kerala and Karnataka have made it a practice to observe Eid far earlier than the rest of India.
Previously too, there have been instances when the dates of Ramzan and Eid observed in Kerala coincided with that in Saudi Arabia. Due to purely geographical reasons, the crescent moon sometimes appears a day earlier in Kerala and Karnataka than in other states.
Considering the geographical subtleties, there is a high possibility of the crescent moon appearing in both Kerala and Karnataka on April 9th. If so, the state will observe Eid on April 10th.
It is also common among clerics in Kerala to duly follow the religious dates announced in Saudi Arabia.
The holy month of #Ramadan will begin in #Kerala on Tuesday (March 12) with the sighting of the newmoon at Ponnani in Malappuram. During the period, #Muslims observe fasting during the day.
