'Want my old life back, lost peace'; Najeeb on 'Aadujeevitham' controversy

Malayalam movie ‘Aadujeevitham’ was released just two weeks back across the globe, and the makers are already in high élan over the thundering response received. Some fell in awe of the craft while a few judged the hype to be high falutin promotional work.

Along with the makers and artists, the real-life hero Najeeb, a native of Ambalapuzha, also rose to stardom among Malayalis all across the world. Najeeb, a fisherman, was busy for two weeks, attending all online channel interviews, as part of the promotional work of the film. Nevertheless, all of his interviews went into the trending list, which also helped the public to know more about the torturous conditions he survived in the desert country.

However, in the latest interview, Najeeb opened up about the distress he is now facing after a lot of accusations filled the online media space about the makers of the movie not paying him enough after the movie tasted unprecedented success.

Najeeb:

I now feel like returning to my older life which was filled with peace. As of now, after the release of the movie, crores of people have showered their love on me and they got to know my story. However, some are still posting vilifying comments which have seriously affected me. My family too prefer the old life that was devoid of fame but was replete with peace.

I don’t want any money. If the makers of the movie decide to give me anything, I would surely receive it with open arms and there is nothing more. The makers of the movie are very eminent personalities, and I feel really sad when they’re attacked on social media by roping in my name.
