THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KSEB has decided to include pensioners in the health care scheme implemented for employees.
Kerala Kaumudi reported that pensioners of KSEB were cheated through a group insurance scheme run by certain organizations.
Kerala Kaumudi also highlighted that pensioners are not receiving the full benefits of the health insurance scheme conducted by the KSEB Pensioners Association, due to higher premiums and limitations on medical assistance. Subsequently, the matter was deliberated upon by the Power Minister and KSEB.
In September, the board of directors decided to seek advice from the state health agency, Karunya Arogya Sahay Yojana (KASP) and appoint the agency to suggest guidelines and procedures for selecting a suitable insurance company. A detailed note was provided to the MD by the Chief Personnel Officer of SEB. President Mohammadali Rauthar informed that, under the leadership of the KSEB Pensioners Association, he maintained constant communication with the management and the Power Minister, K. Krishnankutty. He also expressed gratitude to the management. There are approximately 40,000 pensioners in KSEB.
