JAIPUR: A half-century by skipper Shubman Gill and brilliant finishing by Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan helped Gujarat Titans (GT) secure a thrilling three-wicket win over Rajasthan Royals (RR) in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match at Jaipur on Wednesday. GT is now in the sixth spot in the table, with three wins and three losses, giving them six points. RR have suffered their first loss after four wins, and with eight points, they are still at the top of the tally.

It was Gujarat skipper Shubman Gill's brilliant knock of 72 runs off 44 balls that helped the team win the match. In the run chase of 197, openers Gill and Sai Sudarshan started in a cautious way, not scoring many fours and sixes. The 64-run partnership between Gill and Sai ended with pacer Kuldip Sen trapping Sai for 35 in 29 balls. Matthew Wade 4(6) and Abhinav Manohar were dismissed 1(2) cheaply. Vijay Shankar 16(10) and Shahrukh Khan 14(8) also failed to score much. However, Rashid Khan (24 not out off 11 balls) and Rahul Tewatia (22 off 11) joined for the seventh wicket to pull off a dramatic win for the Titans.

Batting first, Rajasthan managed to put up a decent total of 196/3 on the board, thanks to the half-centures by skipper Sanju Samson (68 off 38) and Riyan Parag (76 off 48). They stitched up a 130-run partnership for the 4th wicket to help the team reach 196.

Brief score: Rajasthan Royals 196/3 (Sanju Samson 68*, Riyan Parag 76; Rashid Khan 1-18) vs Gujarat Titans: 199/7 (Shubman Gill 72, Sai Sudarshan 35, Kuldip Sen 3/41).
