KOTTAYAM: A seven-year-old girl died of snakebite while playing in her yard. The incident happened at 7th mile, Paika, Pala, Kottayam. Atmaja Arun (7), daughter of Arun-Arya couple, died. Atmaja was a second-class student of SDLP School, Kuruvikoodu.
Atmaja was bitten by a snake this afternoon while she was playing in the rented house at 7th Mile. She was rushed to the hospital but her life could not be saved. It was concluded that she was bitten by a viper.
Meanwhile, a teacher met a tragic end when the car in which he was traveling met with an accident around 1 pm near the Chennalod Masjid on Kalpetta's Padinjarethara Road.
The deceased Gulzar (44), son of Mohammad and Aleema, was driving the car. He was a teacher at the government school in Kolappuram. He served as an Islahi lecturer, Thirurangadi Constituency Joint Secretary of KNM Markazudawa, State Dawah Committee member, Kerala Jamiatul Ulama member, Quran Research Foundation director, CIER trainer, Tirurangadi Tharammal Juma Masjid khateeb, Quran Learning School instructor, Thirurangadi Crayons Preschool and Al Furkhan madrass chairman.
