Woman bitten by snake at government hospital in Palakkad

PALAKKAD: In a shocking incident, a woman who came to a government hospital with her daughter was bitten by a snake at the hospital premises. The incident took place at Chittoor Taluk Hospital in Palakkad at around 11 am today. The woman has been identified as Palakkad Puthunagaram Karippode native Gayathri. According to sources, Gayathri was bitten by a snake near the Women's ward of the hospital. Following this, she was admitted to the Palakkad District Hospital.

Gayathri's daughter, who was suffering from a high fever, was admitted to the hospital yesterday night. Gayathri was bitten by the snake when she went to pick up a broom to clean the floor below her daughter's bed. The ward member said there are a lot of rats and bandicoots in the backyard and that the hospital's surroundings are untidy. Gayathri's relative demanded strong action in the incident.
