Three including Malayali student killed in accident in Mysuru

BENGALURU: Three including a Malayali student was killed in an accident in Mysuru. The dead have been identified as Shivani (21), daughter of Biju of Thrissur Kandashamkadavu Mangattukara Ambachira Kootala, Ullas (23), who was riding the bike and a resident of Mysuru K R Pettu, and an employee of an online food delivery agency. Shivani was a final year BCA student of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham in Mysuru.


The incident happened on Saturday night. A car losing control hit the scooter in which Ullas and Shivana were travelling at Jayalakshmipuram J C Road in Mysuru. Both were declared dead on reaching the hospital. The car hit three two-wheelers including their scooter. One traveling in one of the vehicles was a food delivery man.


The police have taken the driver of the car into custody. He was found to be drunk. V V Puram traffic police have registered a case in the accident. The body of Shivani has been taken home after postmortem at Apollo Hospital. She will be cremated today. She leaves behind her mother Savitha and siblings Ashwathy and Arjun.
