DUBAI: In the wake of the water logging and heavy floods that have brought the bustling city to a standstill, the authorities have issued a special warning to passengers departing from the Dubai International Airport. According to the warning, only passengers who have received notification about the flight should be present at the airport. It also mentioned that they should only reach the airport just two hours before the flight's departure.
The sudden warning from authorities came after the airport in the city experienced a sudden rush of passengers. Flight operation from Dubai Airport was mostly disrupted due to heavy rains that poured nonstop for the past three days. Dubai is one of the few airports in the world that sees a passenger count of almost 1.5 lakh daily. To abate the issue, the authorities are working hard to bring back the situation to normalcy. It has been announced that Dubai Connect services will be suspended till midnight, but there will be no change in the timings of direct flights to Dubai.
It has been informed that the restriction will continue even on Friday.
As per emerging reports, UAE is back on track to normalcy after the torrential rain subsided a little. The Ministry of Home Affairs informed that the climate change is over and efforts are in progress to bring the affected areas back to normal.
The President of the UAE, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has ordered immediate help to people affected by the floods. The total number of deaths in the floods has risen to four.
