THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Engineering and Pharmacy Entrance Examination (KEAM), which will be conducted online from this year, will have six sessions.
Although the exam is scheduled from June 1 to 9, the Entrance Commissionerate is planning to complete it in three days. If twenty thousand computers are available, the exam can be conducted in six sessions. The final decision will be on the 25th.
An attempt is being made to conduct the examination in 200 centres which include engineering colleges and schools. 65007 applicants have applied for solely engineering. 28763 people applied for engineering and pharmacy. 18671 applicants have applied for Pharmacy only. The online exam will be conducted using C-DIT's software. Admission can be started after declaring the result at a fast pace.
Now it will be a single exam of 3 hours with 150 questions. 75 questions from Mathematics, 45 from Physics and 30 from Chemistry. Physics and Chemistry score will be considered for BPharm admission. Applicants for pharmacy alone will have a one-and-a-half-hour exam with 75 questions. Rank list will be prepared by giving equal consideration to marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics scored in Plus Two and scores in the entrance exam.
