KOCHI: The video of the Coast Guard ship intercepting the Iranian boat found near Kozhikode Koyilandy with natives of Tamil Nadu is out. The video was released through the Coastguard's official social media page. The Coast Guard vessel can be seen circling the Iranian boat in the video.
The boat was found 20 nautical miles from Koilandi yesterday afternoon. The boat and its occupants were taken into custody by Coastguard vessel ICGS Abhinav. Six fishermen from Kanyakumari were in the boat. They are people who went fishing in Iran. The six went fishing in Iran on March 26 last year. Their sponsor was Syed Saud Jabari. However, they organized a boat and came back after not receiving their salary.
They informed the Tamil Nadu Fishermen's Association when they ran out of fuel at the Indian Ocean border. The association officials informed the state government and then the Coast Guard. The Coast Guard did not file a case since the fishermen provided information. The vessel was brought to Kochi and subjected to detailed examination and the people on board were interrogated.
