CPM leader S Ramachandran Pillai’s son and journalist Bipin Chandran dies

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Senior leader S Ramachandran Pillai's son and journalist Bipin Chandran (50) passed away. He was working as private secretary to the vice chairman of the state planning department. He was undergoing treatment in Thiruvananthapuram Medical College for three days following failure of internal organs. He died Sunday morning.


He had worked as a journalist in Delhi for a long time. He was the executive editor of Entrepreneur Business Magazine. He had also worked for Business Standard, Financial Times and Indian Express. He has also worked as additional private secretary to Health Minister Veena George.


His mother is Ratnamma (late). He leaves behind his wife Shaija (journalist, Delhi) and children Aadith Pillai (financial analyst, Bengaluru) and Aarohi Pillai (student, Pune).
His body will be brought to his house in Anayara NSS Karayogam Road, Pettah Monday afternoon. Cremation will be held at Shanthikavadam at Thycaud at 4 pm after public homage.
