THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A nine-year-old boy who was undergoing treatment for stomach ache died Sunday night. He is suspected to have died of food poisoning. The dead is Adithyan, son of Girish of Kattakada and Manisha. He died last night while undergoing treatment at Thiruvananthapuram SAT Hospital.

The boy was taken to Maniyaravila Taluk Hospital on Saturday due to severe abdominal pain and diarrhea. They gave him medicine and sent him home. He was later admitted to SAT Hospital after his health condition deteriorated.

The boy had eaten parotta and beef from a hotel in Valappilsala. This is suspected to be the reason for food poisoning. However, the police said the cause can be confirmed only after post-mortem. The statement of the boy’s parents will be taken in the incident. Adithyan was a student of Kattakkada Kulathummal LP School.
