Doctor beaten up by patient in Kodanchery; police starts investigation

KOZHIKODE: A complaint has reached police alleging that a doctor at the Holy Cross Hospital in Kodanchery was beaten and abused on Saturday midnight by a patient. According to the complaint, a man who was injured in a car accident unleashed the violence at the doctor. The hospital authorities said that the man was seriously drunk and was alleging not receiving proper treatment.

Following the ruckus, the hospital's security staff kicked the miscreant out of the premises. The police have started an investigation into the incident. It is learned that the doctor who was beaten up has been summoned by the police to record statements.
