Jail officials and inmates clash in Kozhikode District Jail, five injured

KOZHIKODE: Three jail officials and two inmates were injured in a clash between prisoners and jail officials in Kozhikode District Jail on Monday. The clash was between the prisoners who were transferred from the sub jail to the district and the officials. Relatives were not allowed to meet the accused after the visiting hours which led to an altercation.

The injured jail officers Ranjish, Nithin, Pradeep and inmates Ajith Varghese and Jilshad were admitted to Kozhikode General Hospital. It is reported that a case will be filed against the inmates for assaulting the prison officials.
