One-year-old dies as scooter skids off road during family's return journey from Illikkal Kallu

ERATTUPETTA∙ A family's return from a visit to Illikkal Kallu ended on a tragic notice as their scooter overturned and resulted in the death of a one-year-old girl. The deceased is Insa Maryam, daughter of Irshad of Moriyath in Ernakulam's Palluruthy. Irshad (34), wife Shinija (30) and daughter Naira (4) were injured in the accident. The accident happened around 3:30 pm on Wednesday.

The scooter they were traveling on went out of control and skidded off the road. Immediately after the accident, the locals admitted the four to a private hospital in Eratupetta and then to a private hospital in Cherpunkal, but the youngest child succumbed to her injuries.
