KASARAGOD: A search continues for the suspect who sexually abused a ten-year-old girl after abducting her from her house in Ozhinhavalappu Padanakkad. She was abducted Wednesday morning at 3 am and then abandoned after stealing her gold earrings.
The girl’s statement is that the accused is a skinny person who speaks Malayalam. The police have formed different teams and are continuing investigation. Kannur Range DIG Thomson Jose convened a special meeting yesterday and reviewed the progress of the investigation.
The incident happened when the girl’s grandfather went out of the house to milk the cow after keeping the back door open. The girl was abducted through this way. It was first believed that the girl was abducted for stealing the gold ornament. However, the medical report mentioned that the girl was sexually abused. The girl is presently in Kanhangad district hospital. The medical examination conducted here said that she was sexually abused. The condition of the girl is satisfactory, said the hospital.
The locals found the girl abandoned with injuries on her eyes and neck in the morning. There were suspicions from the beginning that someone who clearly knows that the kitchen door would be regularly opened early in the morning to milk the cow, is behind the incident.
