Youth in custody for abducting and sexually abusing 10-year-old girl in Kasargod 

KASARAGOD: One person has been taken into custody in the case of sexually abusing a 10-year-old girl after abducting her from her house. A youth from the area has been taken into custody. He was taken into custody from his relative's house. Reports said that he is an accused in many cases including sexual abuse.

The girl, who was sleeping in her house, was abducted Wednesday morning at 3 am. The girl, who was sexually abused half a kilometre away from her house, was abandoned after stealing her gold earrings.

The locals found the girl abandoned with injuries on her eyes and neck. It was first thought that the accused abducted her for theft. The child subjected to medical examination at the Kanhangad district hospital found that she was sexually abused.

The girl had told the police that the accused was a skinny person who speaks Malayalam. She also told police that he was wearing a lungi, shirt and a mask. The incident happened when the girl’s grandfather went out of the house to milk the cow after keeping the back door open. The girl was abducted through this way. It was first believed that the girl was abducted for stealing the gold ornament. However, the medical report mentioned that the girl was sexually abused. The police had earlier clarified that the accused exactly knows the place where the girl is lying and the time when the grandfather goes to milk the cow.

District Police Chief P Bijoy is camping in Kanhangad and monitoring the investigation. Hozdurg DySP V V Latheesh, Kannur Crime Branch DySP P Balakrishnan Nair, Kannur Narcotics Cell DySP C K Sunil Kumar, Hozdurg Police Inspector M P Azad and Neeleswaram Inspector K V Umesh are those in the investigating team.
