ALAPPUZHA: The preliminary report of the police confirmed the presence of Arali flower that led to the death of a young woman in Haripad. Pallipad native Surya Surendran (24), a nurse by profession, collapsed at the airport while leaving for work abroad on April 28th.

The leaf of the Arali flower near Surya’s house and her blood sample were sent to a lab in Thiruvananthapuram for testing. The result is still awaited. Police say that the actual cause of death can be confirmed only after receiving the report. Surya collapsed at the airport and died while undergoing treatment. Then the police registered a case of unnatural death and recorded the statement of the doctors who examined the woman.
