Pakistan's bombs went in vain as India has strong government at Centre: PM Modi

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that Pakistan, which used to trouble India for the past 70 years with bombs in its hands, is now roaming with a begging bowl as India is ruled by a strong government. Modi was speaking at an election rally in Haryana.

"When there is a strong government in the country, enemies think 100 times before doing anything. Pakistan had been troubling India for 70 years with bombs in its hands. However, it now has a begging bowl in its hands," Modi said, referring to Pakistan's bailout packages from the International Monetary Fund.

"My powerful government scrapped Article 370. Could a weak government have changed the situation in Jammu and Kashmir? Kashmir is now on the path of development," he said.

"The parties in the 'INDIA' alliance are anti-national forces. Congress deceived even the armed forces. It kept the Indian armed forces' capabilities weak so that they could earn huge profits in the name of importing arms from abroad. Soldiers were not provided with proper clothes, shoes and bulletproof jackets. They did not even get good rifles. However, that situation has changed. India, which used to import arms, is now selling arms to other countries. Congress leaders are saying that Article 370 will be imposed again in Kashmir. They want bloodshed in Kashmir. Congress should abandon the dream of bringing back Article 370. Attempting to do so will result in consequences. Modi's decisions are breaking the heart of the Congress-'INDIA' alliance. So they are threatening the country in the name of Pakistan," Modi added.
