KSEB warns of attempts to dupe consumers through WhatsApp

kseb

KSEB, in a post on Facebook, warned consumers are being duped through WhatsApp by urging them to install a special mobile application to avail discounts on electricity bill. KSEB further said that customers should not fall for such fake campaigns aimed at extorting money.

"Do not respond to such messages under any circumstances. Call KSEB's 24/7 toll free number 1912 to clear doubts. KSEB, the official customer care mobile application of KSEB Limited, offers a wide range of services including electricity bill payment", the post reads.

Free electricity for life saving equipment

KSEB provides free electricity for life saving equipment like electric powered air bed, suction device and oxygen concentrator.

The respective section assistant engineer will calculate the monthly electricity requirement based on the wattage of the said equipment and the hours of use. Exemption will be granted for 6 months. After that, the exemption will be re-granted on the certificate of a government doctor that the life support system is still required.

Earlier, to get this benefit, a sworn affidavit of Rs.200/- had to be submitted but now an affidavit on a white paper is enough to avail benefits.
