'Not mom-son, he is my husband'; Shemi about divorce, second marriage

The "TT Family" page on YouTube has already garnered big popularity and support from the masses. The page with more than three lakh subscribers is run by Shemi and Shefi.

Despite the big rise in subscriber count, Shemi has been often subjected to jibe and many times suffered serious body shaming from the online space. Both of them have now given an interview to an online channel and it is now discussed.

Shemi:

During the initial days of such comments, I would be devastated and would spend most of the day crying. Many vile comments would come in the context of ‘Mom-son’. Shefi would shrug off all these comments and would advise me to keep a blind eye on all such comments. And now, I have stopped looking at the comments and it feels good.

Some other comments said that Shefi married me seeing my wealth. To be frank, I don’t have any such wealth as rumoured by netizens. I have a small house but I’m not ready to give it to anyone. Even long before, our families have accepted us.

Shefi is great for me. He talks out things so we have no time to quarrel. Things are always sorted out fast. Even at times of difference, Shefi would talk back to me within two hours. And mostly, he takes me everywhere. Initially, both of us were apprehensive about attending family functions but not now.

When I got divorced, people would quibble about my life and my children. If I wore a new dress and walked out, people would object and would float surmises about how I purchased the new dress despite having little money. So I decided to cloister within my house and made burqa my staple dress code. I lived 14 long years like that. Shefi married me later and now we are in the fourth year of our marriage.

My family had no objection to the marriage proposal from Shefi. Everyone knew him and even I had a great rapport with him so things went plan sailing. However, I had doubts about the 10-year age gap to affect Shefi. But things have been good.
