People who were waiting for an opportunity to spread religious hatred have used my words wrongfully: Shane Nigam

One of the popular on-screen couple of Shane Nigam and Mahima Nambiar are working together after their super-hit movie RDX. The film named Little Hearts is set for release on June 7. The movie also features established actors like Baburaj, Renji Panicker, Shine Tom Chacko, Jaffer Idukki and Mala Parvathy in prominent roles.

For the promotion of this movie, Shane Nigam along with Mahima Nambiar and Baburaj took part in an interview. One clip from the interview has courted controversy in connection with Shane Nigam’s comments on Unni Mukundan.

In the interview, Mahima said that she prefers the duo of her and Shane. After hearing this, Shane replied that he prefers the Mahi-Umfi duo. He went on to say that Umfi is the short form of the Unni Mukundan Fans India.

After this, there a major row on social media and Shane had to explain via a Facebook post that a short clip from the interview was being taken out of context by people without watching the full video. He also further informed that Mahima, Unni and all of them were friends and that people are twisting what he said.

He also further explained that the people who were waiting to take advantage of an opportunity to spread religious hatred have used his words wrongfully.
