No need to worry about UAE visa checks: NORKA assures travellers

norka-

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: NORKA says there is no need to worry about the tightening of checks for those traveling on visitor visas to the UAE. It is not unusual that hundreds of people from Idukki and Kottayam districts were detained at Dubai airport after immigration checks were tightened. Those traveling on a visitor visa must carry proper travel documents. According to travel agents, people who arrange visas and book tickets are often mistaken.

Those traveling on a visitor visa do not usually take out travel insurance, which costs only two thousand rupees and provides full coverage in case of illness during travel. Agents do not inform travelers about this. If you get sick abroad, you might have to spend lakhs on treatment, which many cannot afford. A visitor visa is not an employment visa, so travelers must provide exact information about their return plans. Those on a visitor visa should also carry a return ticket.

Information to be provided

- Those arriving on a visitor visa must provide information such as the purpose of the visit, place of residence and money to spend.

- Working on a visitor visa is not allowed.

- If it is a pleasure trip, you should inform authorities of the hotel where you are staying, your return ticket and the money you have.

- If you are visiting a relative, you should carry a copy of their visa, job details, passport copy, address and phone number.
