Mimicry artist and actor Kottayam Somaraj passes away

KOTTAYAM: Renowned mimicry artist and actor Kottayam Somaraj passed away on Friday at the Kottayam Medical College hospital in Kottayam. He was 62 years old. He had been undergoing treatment for a stomach-related ailment at the Kottayam Medical College hospital for the last few days. Kottayam Somaraj had worked as a screenwriter for television and stage programs for many years.

Somaraj had written the screenplay and dialogues of the film 'Indrapuranam' directed by Karumadi Rajendran. He has acted in several films such as 'Anchara Kalyanam', 'Kannaki', 'Phantom', 'Bamboo Boys', 'Ilakal Pacha Pookkal Manja', 'Annan Thambi' and 'King Liar'. The funeral will be held tomorrow at the crematorium in Kanjikuzhy.
